South Beach/China Basin

Sailors, baseball fans and outdoor enthusiasts who crave the energy of a city, would be quite content to take up residence in South Beach/China basin.

The introduction of SF's light rail, along with the growth of mixed use buildings, and creation of more open space, have revitalized this waterfront area of San Francisco.  Baseball fans know well, the beauty of this portside district; views from Pac Bell Stadium of the surrounding bay are outstanding.  On a warm night, when the Giants are playing, sailboats bob at anchor in the surrounding waters. Firework shows often light up the night sky.

Developers have taken over the surrounding area, building condos and parks to attract new residents.  UCSF has invested millions in the area now called "Mission Bay"  developing its massive complex devoted to the care of women, children and cancer.

Numerous restaurants and shops have gone in to support the growing population.  On weekends, the newly developed waterfront walkways draw runners, cyclists and strollers down to the Embarcadero and Ferry Plaza farmer's market.
