Going to, and living in the Richmond District, is kind of like hanging out with your low-key, yet worldly cousins. Traffic here tends to be less congested, streets are wider, and many feel that finding an apartment here, seems easier here. All this, and yet, there are still plenty of local shops, restaurants, and bars to sustain and entertain the locals.
A strong Asian community provides all you could want, in Asian produce and prepared foods. Proximity to Golden Gate Park, the Pacific Ocean, allow Richmond residents to get their quick outdoor fixes. And, when the summer fog settles in, as it so often does, the nearby Golden Gate Bridge offers escape to sunny Marin, Napa, and Sonoma counties.
